Urubamba Valley

The "Sacred Valley", as it is often called, is a 1.5 hour bus ride northwest from Cusco. This high altitude valley shelters the best remaining examples of Incan architecture and culture.

The Maras Salt Mines. Actually, it's fed by a natural saltwater spring so no mining is involved. This structure still functions today as it did over 800 years ago.
