Shay is an Instrument Rated Private Pilot who is checked out to fly the Cessna Skyhawk, Piper Warrior, and Piper Archer. He completed his training in the Glendale College Flight Program where he received a scholarship for academic excellence. He has also completed the FAA Physiological Training Program at Edwards Air Force Base.
